SKETCHES
A disarrayed exhibit of my Pen and Ink drawings
BUS RIDE
Its almost always frighteningly quiet on these bus rides to the airport. Let's just say there is nothing calming about the silence.
FOOTINGS
I have always had the most alarmingly hilarious conversations with our Structural Engineer who always liked to play it a tad bit too much on the safe side. This was an ongoing intense discussion about how the footings were just not deep enough (as always)
HEADS
I have always been a little shaky about drawing people, but all that went to hell when I started this journal.
LAVONNE
There was a point in my life where I genuinely enjoyed taking my friends to moderately fancy patisseries and gawk at all their baked goods on display and leave after. They, however, much to my dismay did NOT share my feelings.
LUNUGANGA
For a moment or two we all sat unspeaking.
LAKI SENANAYAKE'S HOUSE
Just the thought of living in the jungle fills me with calmness, minus the bugs of course.
BRIEF GARDENS
THE AUDIENCE
I enjoy drawing ma whilst she is immersed in doing something else. Let's face it, she wouldn't stand for it if she knew what I was up to.
MEALS
My poor appetite comes in handy during these elaborate South Indian (unlimited) meals which give me ample time to draw my subjects with minimal movement.
PUBLIC GARDENS
Public gardens in Bangalore have timings that you must abide by. Oh, and they also have colossal walls all-around their peripheries. It all seems so Jeff VanderMeer-ish.
RAIN
I associate everything about the rain with the feeling of coziness that it brings with it.
HARRIET
It was always better with her around. The nerve-wracking moments weren't half as bad, especially before client meetings. We often reached early and lounged on our familiar park benches, immersing ourselves in nothing but the surroundings.
BHUMI PUJA
For the life of me, I will never understand what possesses people to believe in the 'laws' of Vastu.
WEEKEND LUNCHES
Cooking and friends make a good combination. The same is not true with no second person in the picture.
CROWD
